So apparently, Gimli, the dwarf (Lord of the Rings), is travelling to Egypt!

Welsh actor John Rhys-Davies is all set to join the regular cast of Hieroglyph, Fox’s new fantasy-adventure series. The series, with British actor Max Brown in the lead, is set in ancient Egypt and follows thief Ambrose (Brown),who has been released from prison to assist the Pharaoh (Reece Ritchie).  Rhys-Davies will reportedly play Vocifer, a once legendary thief and Ambrose’s old mentor. Packed with action, suspense and seduction, this TV series sure does sound exciting!

On a related note, newbie Allyn Rachel has been cast in ABC/Warner Bros TV’s single-camera comedy pilot, Selfie. This new sitcom has Karen Gillian (of Doctor Who fame) starring as Eliza Dooley, a social network-addict whose reputation is in ruins. It’s being written by Emily Kapneck, creator of the popular comedy, Suburgatory, and is supposed to be a modern take on My Fair Lady.

Rachel, whom we all saw in a commercial or two on TV, will play Eliza’s lovable neighbor, who is also her polar opposite.
