Maybe having over 1000 friends on Facebook isn’t a good thing after all? Well I’m sure young Dana Snay agrees after bragging about a court settlement her dad had received, on the site, losing him $80,000.
Patrick Snay (69) was the previous headmaster at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami and had been for many years however, this all changed in 2010 when the school didn’t renew his contract. Snay believed he was let go due to his age and therefore launched legal action against his old employers and managed to win $80,000 in 2011.
However, part of the deal with the school meant Snay had to keep it all confidential prohibiting him or the school from talking about the case. But this obviously didn’t go to plan as soon after his daughter, Dana, put the news on Facebook.
“Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT”
Dana wrote on Facebook available for her 1,200+ friends, many of who go to Gulliver Preparatory School, to see. Word got back to the school lawyers who quickly appealed against the settlement and this week the Florida Third District Court of Appeal decided it was in favour of the school, getting rid of the $80,000 settlement and crushing Dana’s dreams of going to Europe.
