The famous “Purple Rain” singer managed to woo the crowed when he took over the Aresenio Hall Show, which aired this Wednesday. Prince took to the stage to debut his new collaboration with 3RDEYEGIRL, “FUNKROLL”. The singer was joined on stage with musical group The New Power Generation. The star also performed the 1985 B-Side, “She’s Always in My Hair,” and debuted another track, “Mutiny.”
During a Q&A with fans, Prince managed to let a few facts about himself slip, including that he has limited cooking skills, but can cook an omelette. “All my friends have high cholesterol” he joked. His pet peeve is strangers touching his hair, and his favourite new composition is “The Breakdown.”
The 55-year-old also explained why he hasn’t released an album in four years: “We live in a singles market. I come from the old school and love making albums. You wait until you have other songs to go with (ones you like). Without a contract, there’s no rush to do an album.”
