NHL fans have been wondering why Calgary Flames player Matt Stajan has been out of action the past four games, and unfortunately the reason for his absence is a tragic one.
CBS Sports reports Stajan and his wife Katie lost their newborn son shortly after the baby was born on March 3rd.
Representatives for the Flames confirmed that Stajan will be out on an indefinite leave of absence in order to give Matt and his family the time and privacy to deal with their overwhelming loss.
