Angelina Jolie has a pretty convincing wicked look in Disney’s latest Maleficent poster, it perfectly highlights each detail of the titular character’s look. The poster was revealed Monday morning.The film is set to release on May 30th, dives into the life of the evil fairy Maleficent and what made her curse Princess Aurora in the classic Disney story Sleeping Beauty.
Jolie had more than 50 types of black fabric in mind for her costume. In the end she chose a dense Japanese material with tiny pleats, which they finished off with some leather.
“Maleficent was always so elegant. She was always in control. And to play her was difficult,” says Jolie. “I worked on my voice a lot. She’s bigger than me. She’s on a different level of performance than I have ever done. She’s very still. She’s very sure of her voice. I kept playing with these different types of British voices, making my voice darker and scarier.”
