If you saw Dallas Buyer’s Club, you saw Matthew McConaughey donning a signature white Stetson hat. And, if you ever caught yourself wishing you could own the hat that graced the Oscar-winner’s head, today is your lucky day.
Los Angeles based auctioneer Nate D. Sanders purchased the hat from Universal Studios for $1,291 and is auctioning it for $3,000. The hat is signed by McConaughey and was hand-designed by the film’s costume department.
“[We] worked closely with Stetson to get the period look for Matthew’s cowboy hat. The crowns of the hats then were much higher than they are today. [We] hand-shaped and tipped the brim — that came straight from some of the beautiful old rodeo research we did,” costume designers told Entertainment Weekly.
The hat will remain up for auction until March 27th here.
