“Queen Bee” Lorde ruled the airwaves this fall with her hit “Royals” and has quickly ascended to pop star fame status.
But even music royalty have to deal with ignorant peasants once in a while.
The New Zealander was recently interviewed on Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie Show on KIIS 1065 radio. Jezebel.com reported that one of the hosts asked the singer about her relationship with Taylor Swift.
“I see your guys’ pictures everywhere. As you guys, like, together now?” he asked. “Not together as in lesbians…I’m not talking about ‘Ellen together’. I’m talking about, like, you guys are friendly, right?”
To which Lorde responded, “What do you mean you’re not talking about ‘Ellen together?’ Is there something wrong with lesbians? Is that what you’re trying to say?”
Although the host denied her question, his initial intent was obvious. As we can tell from Lorde’s response, the teen singer is wise beyond her years and doesn’t put up with petty people.
