The Make a Wish foundation has been helping kids/teens with terminal diseases fulfill their dreams and most of their dreams involve meeting sport teams and players.  The San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League recently made one lucky fan’s dream come true.

Sam Tageson, who is 17 and battling a life threatening heart condition, was signedby the Sharks to a one-day contract with the team.  Tageson practicing with the team was just one of the perks he received from the team. He met the general manager of the team, skated in the pre-game skate with the team, and had the Shark Tank, the SAP center give him a standing ovation. Tageson was brought to tears from the crowd’s ovation, as his dream was sinking in.

His mother, Lisa Mills said, “The doctors all through the years have said give him golf clubs, take the hockey stick away.  We tried. It doesn’t work.”

It looks like his parents made the right call in letting him play hockey.  He’s only 17 and playing for the Sharks, albeit for a day.
