With the ten-part reality series Drag Queens of London debuting this month on UK English television, radio presenter Jonathan Ross and DJ Jodie Harsh are hoping to brining RuPaul’s Drag Race to the UK. While RuPaul himself is not involved, the duo is working on a series very similar to the popular American show that has drag queens of all types fighting for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. Another perk is a nice little check to the tune of $100,000.

RDR is notorious for only allowing citizens of the United States and it’s territories to participate in the show. This leaves the rest of the drag world to watch and wonder if they will ever get their chance to compete. While this season’s Courtney Act is originally from Australia, she had to get her visa before entering into the audition process for the show itself.

In an interview this past week, Ross told Daily Star,  “I’ve been working with Jodie on a UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race” but “unfortunately we have had to take a break because of some family issues. But we’re hoping to pick it up again in the near future.”

Here’s to hoping it’s sooner rather then later! You can expect more fun competition as RDR continues its sixth season and has already been renewed for its seventh. “I am a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race” Ross said, and he’s got some big shoes to fill–size 12 to be exact!
