JK Rowling introduced the Wizarding World to The Tales of Beedle the Bard in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when Harry, Ron, and Hermione learned about one of the stories from said book, called “The Tale of the Three Brothers.” After Deathly Hallows was published, JK Rowling made The Tales of Beedle the Bard available to Muggles when she wrote and sold the collection in order to donate profits to charity. For years, this book has been common knowledge among Harry Potter fans, and now, there will be a film to go along with it!

Seniors at Husson University’s New England School of Communications, or NESCom, received what members of the Harry Potter fandom would surely call the coolest project ever: bringing “The Tale of the Three Brothers” to the silver screen!

It took three years for NESCom to secure the film rights from Warner Brothers, but it only took a semester of Saturdays to film the movie. The film crew’s Key Grip, Spencer Roberts, said, “We only used Saturdays because we had to find a day where everybody on the crew would always be available. So early on we said everybody clear your Saturdays, we’ll shoot twelve hour days if we have to, and we will just go out there and we will get it done.”

While the task of creating the film adaptation of “The Tale of the Three Brothers” is definitely intriguing, the film crew knows that they have a lot of fans to impress. The film will be shown at various film festivals, and eventually it will be released online for all Harry Potter fans to see!
