Ever since the Disney phenomenon Frozen hit cinema screens back in November, no one has been able to get away from the catchy songs or lovable characters.
Box Office Mojo reports that just this weekend the animated family movie moved into eighth place in the worldwide box office standings, passing the likes of Skyfall and The Dark Knight Rises, which are in ninth and tenth place, respectively.
Box Office Mojo has also revealed that Frozen has quickly become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, making $1.112 billion as of this weekend. Its rapid success has beaten even the most popular of Disney movies, such as The Lion King and Toy Story 3.
According to Disney, the release of Frozen on DVD and Blu-Ray has been one of the most successful in over a decade. And we don’t blame them – who doesn’t love an animated movie about two bad-ass princesses, their hilarious snowman sidekick and a quest to stop an eternal winter?!
