From covering Top 40 hits to releasing their own material, the trio of brothers, Fabian, Alejandro and Daniel Manzano, better known as the YouTube sensation, Boyce Avenue, make good things happen. Now the brothers have released a special song or “call to action” as percussionist, Daniel put it, to benefit the charity, Pencils of Promise, and change children’s lives.
The organization’s name might sound familiar, because they have partnered up with pop sensation, Justin Bieber, several times during his Believe and My World tours to provide children around the globe with access to education by building new schools in impoverished countries.
“Every time somebody buys this song, money will go to charity to help kids who can’t find an education or don’t have the opportunities that maybe we all grew up with,” Daniel added.
Boyce Avenue’s new release, “One Life” will benefit the San Francisco Javier Primary School, located in Guatemala, whose 89 students all have to share three overcrowded classrooms. If the campaign succeeds, two new classrooms will be built – meaning each grade could have their own desperately needed space.
The project has already raised $17,000, a bit more than half of what is needed to finish the school ($25,000).
