James Franco Lays Down The Law Against Former Manager In Embezzlement Disaster

This past September it was reported that celebrity James Franco, star of the upcoming Good People, was parting ways with then-manager Miles Levy. While foul play has been speculated about in Levy’s elimination from the managerial position, we’re finally obtaining news to just how foul that play actually was.

Reportedly, Levy was fired by Franco after he had discovered that Levy was in cahoots with fellow manager Steve Blatt to embezzle large sums of money from the box office sensation. Prior to the firing in 2013, Levy and Blatt had gotten away with taking an exta 5% of Franco’s payments to their firm; Franco explained he wasn’t going to pay the 15% he had been for years and everyone agreed to a 10% payment. However, James Levy Management kept on charging Franco the 15% and secretly pocketing 5% for himself. Hello trouble!

Tanner Mainstain Blatt Glynn & Johnson LLP, a popular choice for an accounting firm for celebrities, helped Levy and his partner Blatt pull it off, creating a false corporation through which they could deliver their siphoned cash. You think you would know someone after working with them for two decades, but this is not the case for Mr. Franco.
