You’ve cried with two-time Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain in The Help, killed Al Queda with her in Zero Dark Thirty, and now you can fall [further] in love with Chastain as she is nearing a deal to play the glamorous role of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s Blonde.
Blonde is based on Joyce Carol Oates’ 2001 imagined memoir (by the same title) about the life of Norma Jeane Baker, who is more commonly known by her stage name Marilyn Monroe. The novel explores Miss Monroe’s remade identity associated with her new name, along with her inner struggles in stardom during the 1950s.
Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, will produce Blonde in conjunction with Worldview Entertainment. It has been rumored that Pitt was instrumental in convincing Chastain to take on such an intimidating role.
What do you think? Can Chastain pull off such a sexy, heavy role?
