Even though Beyonce swears by it, even a “Surfboard” couldn’t keep Australian singer Cody Simpson and model Gigi Hadid together after nearly a year of dating.
Last seen in public together walking the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards less than two weeks ago, the couple’s reps exclusively released a statement to JustJared Monday regarding their split.
“Their busy schedules and living on opposite coasts have made it nearly impossible for the two of them to give the relationship the attention that it needs,” the rep says in a statement. “They decided that rather than let things sour that they split up in hopes that their lives might someday bring them back together. They remain close friends and will continue to show their support for one and other.”
The model and daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member (and former model herself), Yolanda Foster, corroborated the amicable split by posting the statement on twitter. All love here. pic.twitter.com/T5lud54S1I

Cody preemptively tweeted on Sunday his excitement to be working on his next album, sounding happy to be moving on.
