There is another twist in the saga of Los Angeles Clippers owner, Donald Sterling. V. Stiviano, the woman whose voice can be heard on the leaked tape on which Sterling made his now infamous racist remarks, is said to be facing criminal investigation for allegedly trying to extort money from him, according to a source cited by TMZ.

The investigation is said to be focusing on whether Stiviano illegally recorded Sterling and if she demanded money in exchange for keeping the audio recordings a secret. Under California Law, it is a crime to record private conversation without the consent of all parties involved.

TMZ also reported that Stiviano had allegedly initiated contact with Sterling to discuss settlement for the tapes. Something which Sterling seemed to allude to when he told Du Jour Magazine that “I wish I had just paid her off.”

Miss Stiviano is also allegedly in possession of more than 100 hours of unreleased recording, some of which could be further damaging to Sterling. She would later confirm this in a Barbara Walters interview: “There’s been a number of occasions where Mr. Sterling and I had conversations just like this one. This was one of very many,” she told Miss Walters, in reference to the leaked tape. She then added, “Part of what the world heard was only 15 minutes. There’s a number of other hours that the world doesn’t know.”

She also went on to deny that she was Donald Sterling’s girlfriend, claiming that she was his “personal assistant” and that he was nothing more but a “father figure” to her.
