What an epic 2 hours of Once Upon A Time! We got thrills, chills, action, love, and…blue goo. Somehow, Zelena’s drawing, gear, portal, thing, filled with the Jell-O like stuff and out popped the newest character to join the fray. It was Elsa!
So, what does that mean for the town? Is she going to freeze everything over in season 4? What exactly is the Disney Queen searching for? None of that is clear right now and the execs aren’t dishing – yet.
Adam and Eddie both said in interviews we would be going somewhere in the last few minutes of the season. It seems ‘home’ is that destination. However, it’s a bit disappointing that we aren’t traveling to Camelot and that Marian wasn’t the new villain. Bringing in Morgana le Fay, Nimwe, Guinevere, or another such character would have been quite the shock. Plus, bringing in Camelot would have added a new flavor and danger to the show. More magic to fight against!
I also think a plot was lost. How horrific would it be to bring Neal back as a villain instead of bringing in a new character? The 4th season could have been dedicated to getting the real Neal back. It would have given Michael Raymond-James a brilliant and challenging part, as well as appease a lot of fans.
But, I digress. Bringing Elsa in is an interesting and unexpected twist. Her reason for coming and how she was able to transport to Storybrooke are also shrouded in mystery. Things are never quiet in Storybrooke.
