Alec Baldwin is making headlines again, and unfortunately once more the story has nothing to do with his considerable acting talents. It seems Baldwin has returned to his old habit of causing trouble, then blaming that trouble on everyone else.
Baldwin was detained in New York City the morning of May 13th after police spotted him riding his bicycle the wrong way on Fifth Avenue and 16th Street. The actor was not carrying identification with him, so he was taken to the police station to have his identity verified. While that might seem odd given Baldwin’s fame, especially in NYC, police were only following standard procedure.
According to TMZ, the 30 Rock star was hostile and confrontational with officers, which earned him a ticket for disorderly conduct as well as the bike charge.
After the incident, Baldwin took to his Twitter page, slamming the officer who arrested him and condemning police for a completely unrelated incident involving his daughter.
Baldwin tweeted:
“Officer Moreno, badge number 23388, arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave … Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing.”
Baldwin also targeted all of New York City in another rage-filled tweet:
“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign.”
What do YOU think, PopWrappers? Did the police overreact to a minor incident, or is Alec acting like an entitled diva? Let us know in the comments!
