Glee’s good-girl, hair-flipping Lea Michele belts out with more of the latter in her new music video for “On My Way”.
It’s the second track off her debut solo album Louder, which she has claimed is “more than just an album” to her. Others sure agreed in March when the album hit number 4 on the Billboard 200 and sold 60,000 copies in its first week of release!
Louder has the familiar boldness of Rachel Berry’s pipes, but with Katy Perry’s flare and Taylor Swift’s feels. And, though the album seems to partly pay solemn tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith, especially in “You’re Mine” and “If You Say So” – Michele draws a somewhat sexy silver lining in this one.
The release of the video is Michele’s, seductive, upbeat and hopeful journey to find (and grind) love. Despite her heart being “too drunk to drive”, Michele seems very much on her way to rolling down the windows and letting loose from her high-strung Glee persona in this summer-loving track.
