Kinberg is currently working on the Fantastic Four reboot set to hit cinemas in 2015 and, according to a recent interview with Digitial Spy, Kinberg has said that the X-men and Fantastic Four universes are going to stay separate for the foreseeable future. Saying “They are definitely different universes in that all of the X-Men films have never acknowledged a superhero team called The Fantastic Four who live in New York City.”
Kinberg and director Bryan Singer are both set to team up for the next in the series, X-Men: Apocalypse, coming out in 2016. Kinberg is sure this film will really push the characters and the story “It’s a big opportunity because it’s a bigger scale story than we’ve seen before and there’s some really radical things in the comic that we want to do in the film as well.”
The filmmaker has also hinted at a possible Silver Surfer revival, mentioning that he’s a big fan of the character and it has been discussed… could we see another superhero movie in the future?
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 22 in the UK and just a day later in the US.
