The world’s most honest janitor recently was given $81,597.
Without thinking twice, when struggling student and janitor Chamindu Amarsinghe found money in the sanitary napkin bins in the bathrooms of a Sydney, Australia TV company, he turned the money in to his supervisor.
In 2011, Amarsinghe first stumbled upon $50 and $100 bills until it eventually reached close to $100,000. Police spent several years trying to figure out who the money belonged to but had no luck and no claims to it.

Australian Magistrate Michael Smith said that “such honesty” should not go unrewarded and gave $81,597 of the money to Amarsinghe. This just goes to show that honesty really is the best policy.
