It used to be that the winners of high school talent shows had an interested audience of a couple of hundred peers and fame that lasted a few weeks. Now, thanks to YouTube, anyone doing anything can become a star, even teenage gym floor performers.
After being posted on May 21st, a highlight reel from the talent show at Pitman High School in Turlock, California now has over two million views thanks to its star, and the winner of the event, a teen who lip- synced to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and, most impressively, delivered a spot-on replication of the famous dance moves from the video. YouTube commenters seemed particularly impressed with the kid’s rendition of the moonwalk.
