If you’ve enjoyed the past few seasons of Survivor, you will be glad to hear that the Blood Vs Water twist is back. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, Jeff Probst gives us the run down on what we can expect from season 29.

The shows next bunch of castaways can be seen in September on CBS in Survivor: San Juan del Sur – Blood Vs Water, which will be filmed in Nicaragua (the same place used for Survivor: Nicaragua and Survivor: Redemption Island).  And yes, speaking of Redemption Island, it will be back, which Probst said, despite fans originally not loving the twist, it works better in a Blood Vs Water season.

This season will feature all new players, which is good considering between Seasons 20 through 28, we only had three seasons with all newbies. This means the casting department worked even harder to find pairs that will connect with the audience.  “Since it is all new people you need to find a way to bond with them quickly so that the audience knows, ‘Oh, okay, that’s the father and that’s the son,” says Probst.  “And we do have something out of the gate that will help with that a little bit.  We just have to do a very good job in how we tell those stories, when you cut one person on one beach, then cut to their significant other on the other beach.  And, you slowly start pairing them together. I’m not really concerned about it. Also looking at the group we have, I would bet that if we lined them up randomly, the average person could probably get 60 to 70 percent just based on looking at them.”

It was heavily rumored that this season would be a Blood Vs Water season, and the predictions have been true so far, so maybe we can expect season 30 to be Survivor: Legends.
