Who knew actor Macaulay Culkin had a band? I guess when you are a kid star who grows into adulthood in the spotlight, a band is the logical place to go. After all, fellow actors like Jared Leto, Jack Black and Bruce Willis have all had fairly good success with their bands, so why not? Unfortunately, things aren’t as well for Culkin as they have for the other guys.
Culkin’s band, a Velvet Underground cover band known as The Pizza Underground, played a gig this week at the Dot to Dot Festival. This festival, which takes place in Nottingham, England, is a fairly well known festival in that part of the world, and probably a great honor for most bands to play. Culkin’s band, however, wasn’t given the warmest welcome.
After taking the stage and only playing one song, a cover of “Perfect Day” by Lou Red, called “Pizza Day”, they walked off. Festival goers were not impressed and began to boo and throw beers at the stage. Culkin said, “Why are you throwing those, I’d rather drink them!” before saying “That’s the end of the show, goodnight.” before walking off stage.
Later, the band responded with this tweet:
Thank you so much Nottingham and dot to dot. Sorry that a couple people ruined it for everyone.
