Slightly based on The Great Gatsby, Affluenza is about a middle class aspiring photographer (Boardwalk Empire’s Ben Rosenfield) is tossed into the party scene in Greck Neck, Long Island and stays with his cousin Kate (Bates Motel’s Nicola Peltz) and her posse of friends and admirers. Bombarded with money, sex, and possibly something more nefarious, things in Long Island will never be the same again.
Peltz who plays Kate talks about her character to EW, “On the outside, she looks like she should be the happiest person in the world. But as the story goes on you just realize how broken she is,” she continues, “Her values are all mixed up.”
Affluenza features a wonderful cast that includes The Flash’s Grant Gustin and Faking It star Gregg Sulkin.
