Lady Gaga parted ways with her long time manager, Troy Carter, late last year due to creative differences. Gaga has since been manager-less and busy on tour for her latest album, ArtPop.
It’s been rumored that Gaga is personally head-hunting Scooter Braun, who currently manages Justin Bieber and new talent Ariana Grande. Scooter knows what he’s doing and has an amazing track record. It’s no wonder Gaga has her sights set on him (despite Bieber’s latest PR mishaps).
Gaga is known for her over-the-top and risky fashion choices and stellar performances. She gets noticed for her outfits but people keep looking because of her raw talent. She has great pipes and is a classically trained musician.
ArtPop hasn’t received the same positive reviews and numbers that her previous releases did, but it has generated a couple top 10 hits with “Applause” and “Do What You Want,” featuring R. Kelly. Top 10 is fantastic but isn’t the mind-blowing number 1 status of “Bad Romance” or “Born This Way.”
Lady Gaga might be looking for a way to reinvent herself, and having Scooter on board may be the ingredient she needs. Personally, I think she has all the creativity in the world and then some, but a strong backbone and loyal manager is the glue to keep it all together.
I wish Lady Gaga the best of luck in her search. There should be an audition list a mile long to take 10% of her earnings.
