A new Mortal Kombat is on the way, and it’s just as flinging-viscera-riddled and spine-crunchingly hardcore as you remembered it! …Actually even more-so, perhaps, as the series is reaching into the next gen of gaming for the first time in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X, announced via a trailer this afternoon.
The trailer shows trademark characters Scorpion and Sub-Zero duking it out in the middle of a secluded snowscape. Soon enough, weapons are thrown and special moves are activated, and at the end of it all, someone’s head ends up decapitated and pinned to a tree.
With E3 just 8 days away, you can be sure that we’ll be seeing more of this not-so-family-friendly 2015 title at the world-renowned games conference. Mortal Kombat X will be developed by NetherRealm, who previously released the critically-acclaimed Mortal Kombat on PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, and Windows in 2011.
