Game Of Thrones has claimed its own seat of power as HBO’s most watched series in the network’s history! The previous owner of this prestigeous title, The Sopranos, had the highest viewership peaking at 18.2 million weekly viewers in 2002.
The current fourth season of Game Of Thrones managed to achieve multiple series high ratings, and has officially reached 18.4 million viewers! The Emmy-winning fantasy series now outranks The Sopranos’ previous record.
GOT saw a drastic increase, with 4 million additional viewers–season 3 alone managed to earn 14.4 million viewers. Earlier this season, when it hit highs, HBO decided to renew the show early–for two more seasons!
