Earlier today, excitement and speculation was built up because of a supposedly renewed series trademark; people at E3 were saying that Square-Enix might be bringing Tomb Raider back once again.

Just a couple of hours later, that speculation was proven true with the unveiling of not one, but two Tomb Raider titles announced during (and shortly after) Microsoft’s E3 presentation!

The “main” title of the two upcoming games is Rise of the Tomb Raider, the official next installment in Square-Enix’s well-received Tomb Raider reboot.

A CGI teaser trailer was shown alongside the announcement which featured the iconic Lara Croft receiving the results of a psychiatric analysis. In it, the psychiatrist informs her that functioning in everyday life may be hard for her given the traumatic experiences she’s had. All I can say is it’s a good thing she’s not going to be experiencing everyday life anytime soon, then! Check out the chill-inducing trailer below:

The other title is entitled Tomb Raider: Temple of Osiris, and takes a break from series norms by embracing a 4 player co-op experiences.

According to Scott Amos of Crystal Dynamics, the developers behind the Tomb Raider series, Temple of Osiris was made “from the ground up” and specifically for 4 players to tackle. The goal of the game is to collect the body parts of the ancient god Osiris. Other than Ms. Croft herself, you can also play as Carter Bell, Isis, or Horus; the latter two are the mother and son of Osiris himself.

Are you looking forward to Lara Croft’s next set of adventures in the Tomb Raider series?
