Amongst the slew of game details revealed at Nintendo’s E3 2014 press conference were brand new details regarding their upcoming Dynasty Warriors/The Legend of Zelda crossover, aptly titled Hyrule Warriors.
First thing’s first: the game is due out on September 26 for North America. So, if you’re even marginally excited for it, better go settle in your pre-order now, because it’s coming soon!
Secondly, by the recent gameplay trailer announced alongside that little bit of info, Hyrule Warriors looks to be genuinely fantastic. Not only is it bound to be the most intricate Dynasty Warriors title yet, but it’ll also be taking Zelda to a place where it has never gone before, characterizing the grand wars that the series’ lore is known for in a truer scale.
On top of that, it was revealed that gamers will also be able to play as both Princess Zelda and Midna in the upcoming title. Whereas Midna rides upon a trusty wolf much like in Twilight Princess, attacking foes from afar with her gigantic magical hand thingy, Zelda primarily relies on light arrows, much like in many games in the series’ final boss fights.
Tecmo Koei is also teasing another upcoming collab in the future, though it’s unclear of whether or not it’ll be another Nintendo crossover.
