Tom Fletcher, one of the lead vocalists of pop-rock band Mcfly, has been named Marvel’s Celebrity Dad of the Year! He was able to beat the likes of Media Mogul Simon Cowell and Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver in a public vote.
Tom became a father last march when he and his wife, Giovanna, welcomed their first child, baby boy Buzz Michelangelo.
He has gained praise from sharing adorable pictures as well as insights on fatherhood to his more than 1.3 million followers on twitter. In addition to being a successful singer-songwriter, he is also an avid YouTube vlogger. Prior to Buzz’s birth, he posted a time lapse video of his wife’s growing baby bump while serenading her with a song that he wrote and dedicated to their future child.
The video has gone viral and garnered over 9 million views. Academy award winner Russell Crowe, who never heard of Mcfly before, became an instant fan after watching it. “”This is what came into my mind (when watching), ‘I’ve just met one of the richest men in the world’. This man has such a rich internal life.” Crowe said of Tom.
Tom even posted a selfie on Instagram with his award and Spiderman to celebrate his win. He then followed it with a picture of Baby Buzz sleeping.
