Despite the new short story from J.K. Rowling, featured on Pottermore.com, Harry Potter himself believes it to be unlikely that a new film will be created.
At the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Daniel Radcliffe said that it was not even considered an option yet, and is unlikely to be. He revealed, “It’s not even hypothetical at the moment. What she’s written, I haven’t read it yet. I am going to read it. As I understand it, a very short piece that I’m not sure it, of itself, worthy of adaptation to film.”
It is well known that Radcliffe wants to be thought of as a successful actor, not just as Harry Potter.
Daniel then added, “He’s at least sorta 12 years older in it than I am now, so I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that for a long time, I’m hoping.”
This response does not completely strike out the possibility of a new follow up film, but it all but removes the hope of The Golden Trio returning to our screens any time soon.
