Allison Janney To Enter The Emmy Record Books

If she wins on Monday, Allison Janney could earn her place in the Emmy record books. Janney could join Art Carney, Tyne Daly, and others with 6 wins.

There is no doubt Allison Janney is an incredibly talented actress, and this weekend brought further proof to this statement! Janney won her fifth career Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, thus continuing her quest to become one of the biggest Emmy winners of all time.

She won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Margaret Scully in Masters of Sex. Her four previous wins were for her iconic role as C.J. Cregg on The West Wing. Janney is also looking to win her sixth Emmy next week for her performance as Bonnie in Mom, where she is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

She is the overwhelming favorite win for next Monday, and if she does, she will enter Emmy record books as being the third on the list of all-time winners. The current champion is Cloris Leachman (eight wins), and second is Ed Asner and Mary Tyler Moore at seven each. Janney, if she wins, will join Art Carney, Tyne Daly, Carl Reiner, and Tim Conway with six wins.
