Jimmy Fallon And Uzo Aduba Rightfully Win Comedic Emmys

During Saturday night’s Creative Arts Emmys awards ceremony, both Jimmy Fallon and Uzo Aduba rightfully took home awards for Comedy Guest Acting.

Jimmy Fallon and Uzo Aduba once again prove how great they are at what they do. The duo won the Comedy Guest Acting categories at the Creative Arts Emmys this past Saturday.

Fallon won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in the Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live. The episode saw the resurrection of some of Fallon’s most iconic characters from when he was a castmember on the long-running sketch comedy show. He previously won this same award in 2012 for guest hosting SNL for the Christmas episode as well. Fallon was nominated along with fellow SNL guest host Louis C.K., Veep’s Gary Cole, veteran actor Steve Buscemi (Portlandia), Nathan Lane (Modern Family) and last year’s winner Bob Newhart (The Big Bang Theory). Lane now is the overall biggest loser in this category, having been nominated and lost five times.

Aduba has become a breakout star for her amazing performance as Crazy Eyes in mega-hit Orange Is The New Black. She was nominated against her Orange Is The New Black co-stars Laverne Cox and Natasha Lyonne, along with Saturday Night Live’s recurring nominees Tina Fey and Melissa McCarthy. Aduba took the stage tearfully to accept her award from Morgan Freeman. She is the first African-American winner in this category; Beah Richards previously won a Guest Emmy in 1987, but at that time there was only one Guest Acting category for actors and actresses.
