The Lumineers Debut “Visions of China” For ‘The Walking Dead’

It seems as if The Walking Dead ain’t just a cultural phenomenon in the comic and TV worlds any longer; the post-apocalyptic zombie thriller seems to be sinking its teeth into the music industry nowadays, too.

Hot on the heels of the cult hit that was American Idol star Lee DeWyze’s contribution to the series in “Blackbird Song”, none other than popular folk-rock outlet The Lumineers are following in his footsteps. Their Walking Dead track, “Visions of China”, takes away much of the strummy, upbeat stylings that you may remember the band for with its 2012 mega-hit “Ho Hey”. Instead, they’ve opted for a slow-burning, more introspective, and overall ominous, mystical ambiance that fits the series impeccably well.

The track will be featured on a bonus soundtrack included with pre-orders of fourth season DVD and Blu-ray sets. Outside of The Lumineers’ contribution, you’ll also find tracks by alt-J, Colbie Caillat, and more on the impending bonus CD, Songs of Survival, Vol. 2 that’ll come with the season set.
