The recent Broadway remounting of John Kander and Fred Ebb’s classic musical Cabaret has been the buzz of Broadway. Now it has added one of the finest young actresses of today in its coveted lead role.
Emma Stone has joined the cast to play Sally Bowles, the enticing star of the titular Cabaret. She replaces Michelle Williams in the role.
Stone will perform with Alan Cumming, who won a Tony Award in 1998 for his performance as the Emcee, and reprises that role in the current revival.
Stone will make her Cabaret debut in November and will continue in the role until February next year. She can also be seen in prestige project Birdman and the Woody Allen comedy Magic in the Moonlight.
