Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss has confirmed he will be returning to Game of Thrones for season 5.
He will be reprising his role as Tycho Nestoris, the calculating representative of the Iron Bank of Braavos. The character debuted in the episode “The Laws of Gods and Men”.
This is where we’ll start to see his scenes be more directly in line with the books, since Season 5 is going to be following George R.R. Martin’s 4th and 5th novels, A Feast For Crows and A Dance with Dragons. He is not introduced until Book 5, where he is supposed to visit King Stannis Baratheon to negotiate a loan.
His character was introduced earlier in the show, since the producers believed it was important to introduce Braavos and the Iron Bank as soon as possible; they play key roles in the always thickening plot.
He is expected to begin filming next week in Croatia.
