Joan Rivers is now depending on life support in order to stay alive. She is currently a patient at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.
The television host’s family are still optimistic, but they will have to decide soon whether or not to keep Rivers on the machines.
The 81-year-old was undergoing vocal chord surgery earlier in the week when she went into cardiac and respiratory arrest, causing her to stop breathing. Doctors placed her in a medically-induced coma so that they could monitor any possible brain damage.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Rivers and her entire family.
