An Excited John Green Announces ‘Paper Towns’ Director

After ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ being a summer hit, John Green announced that his book-to-film adaptation of ‘Paper Towns’ will be directed by Jake Schreier.

John Green fans, the excitement is endless!

The author announced earlier today that Jake Schreier will be the director for the second film adaptation of one of his books, Paper Towns.

The young adult author tweeted today:

Schreier will be joining a team that currently consists of the scriptwriters from Green’s literary blockbuster The Fault in Our Stars. Plus Nat Wolff, who played Isaac in the same film, has been cast as Quentin Jacobsen, also known as “Q.” John Green will be an executive producer for the movie.

The plot of Paper Towns is described as mystery where Q, an ordinary teenage boy, sets off on an extraordinary adventure to find an even more extraordinary girl named Margo Roth Spiegelman. The actress who will play Margo has not been decided.

The Fault in Our Stars producer Wyck Godfrey described what he wanted in the actress to play Margo as “somebody that feels like that unattainable, awesome, cool girl in high school that a nerd like me couldn’t get.”

The story is Green’s second novel and second film.

I’m really excited to see that we have another John Green book coming out as a movie. I’m sure Jake Schreier will do an excellent job of it (although I’m slightly biased about liking Josh Boone… he went to my high school!). I’m still looking forward to seeing Looking for Alaska to be adapted as well, but Paper Towns still has an excellent plot that will make a great movie. I may have to go check out that Robot & Frank movie now.
