‘Digimon’ Concept Art Revealed For Upcoming Sequel Series

A new character concept has been revealed for the Digimon television continuation to be released in 2015, more than 15 years after the original’s premiere.

After the 15th anniversary of the original Digimon anime, it was announced that a sequel series will in fact premiere next year based on the first group of digidestined! Shortly after the event, the Digimon 15th anniversary project website began an interactive countdown with an egg that hatched, offering a look at the outlines of series featuring Tai and his beloved Digimon partner, Agumon.

The outline shows a clearly-altered sketch of the character concept that I find well-detailed and suitable for the age of the character now, at 17. A Japanese and English translation are offered that details a potential scene with Tai, while referencing a photo of the group. Anime News Network notes that the English translation is missing “Big brother, have a good day” which confirms his sister and fellow digidestined will appear.

Another egg icon has since appeared on the website, insinuating future character sketches could be released, and hopefully consistently enough until it’s confirmed all of our favorites will be back! I’m curious to see how youngsters Kari and TK will appear with the time jump!
