Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence did it again… and we will finally be able to watch.
Though the duo is well known for their movies American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, they also made a third movie together back in 2012. The film, called Serena, was directed by Susanne Bier and will debut at the BFI London Film Festival. The film is set to be released throughout the UK on October 24th, but a US release date has not yet been announced.
Why hasn’t the film been released yet? According to a story from last year via the Hollywood Reporter, the movie has been shopped around. Though there was reported interest from Fox Searchlight as well as The Weinstein Company, questions have been raised about the quality of the film. However, as Bier is a known perfectionist when it comes to her work, it could just be that she was waiting for the ideal opportunity.
The film is based on a novel by Ron Rash that was released in 2008. Cooper takes on the role of a timber mogul and Lawrence, his wife. Described by the New Yorker as a “depression-era Lady Macbeth,” it could be that this film will start generating some Oscar buzz very soon.
