The guys of Maroon 5 recently released their brand-new studio album, V, and are currently out there promoting it. Their promo performances are going just fine and the latest found them visiting BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Among old and new songs of theirs, the band also got to perform their own rendition of one of today’s biggest hits, Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”.
During their stop in the UK, Adam Levine and the rest of the gang sat down with Fearne Cotton and performed a couple of old tunes, “Sunday Morning” and “One More Night”, and the new singles, “Maps” and “Animals”, before getting to the cover of the worldwide smash.
The band stripped down the melody of the upbeat pop tune to just riffs and keys, making the instrumental totally acoustic for the frontman to sing over. Slowing things down, the singer did a wonderful job with the rendition, making great use of his falsetto and giving the track a different feeling.
Maroon 5 is doing really well at this point, as the brand-new album, V, debuted on the top of Billboard and the lead single, “Maps”, is already a top-10 hit for them. The band also announced they are going to tour North America and Europe this year with the Maroon 5 World Tour 2015, also styled as #MaroonVTour and unofficially called the V Tour as well.
