Only Girl spent the last year dropping brilliant independent tunes and managed to grab the attention of the blogsphere. The songstress has now signed with Akira Records and is properly launching her career by dropping her label-supported debut single, “Feel It”.
If you have heard any of her previous tunes, you know she never disappoints! On this one, we are served with a synths-filled, soft-electro production, with soulful vocals laid on top. The track keeps the beauty and unique sound of her casual indie-pop, but is her most mainstream and radio-friendly effort to date. It would come as no surprise if the song got picked by Top 40 radio and became her breakout hit.
She might not be the first newcomer to offer such a promising tune, but there is something special about her: This up and coming lady has a big – no, I mean BIG – voice and it’s evident, even though there is no exaggeration to it.
Actually, she could sit up there with all the big-voiced divas of our generation, trying to make a name for herself by singing heartbreaking ballads. Instead, she is experimenting with different sounds on every tune she puts out, with indie-pop being the main theme. She’s like Adele-gone-Lana, or something like that at least.
Give “Feel It” a listen and get into her now!
