Pack Your Bags For Another Griswold Vacation

Leslie Mann and Ed Helms are rumoured to be starring in a reboot of the Griswold Vacation movie series. The new film will follow the Griswold siblings.

Leslie Mann (The Other Woman) has been cast as Audrey Griswold in the upcoming sequel to a favorite absurdly funny film series, National Lampoon’s Vacation according to the Hollywood Reporter. If you aren’t familiar with the films, the films centered on a family vacation gone awry on almost every occasion ranging from family deaths, an outlandish Christmas, and a trip to Vegas that alters everyone, spawning four films between 1983 and 1997.

Ed Helms (The Hangover) is also attached to star in the upcoming sequel/reboot series as an older version of Rusty Griswold with his wife played by Christina Applegate and Mann’s husband played by Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Avengers)

In the original films, Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo played wacky yet lovable parents Clark and Ellen who are set to appear in an unknown capacity (make it a large role…please?)

The movie will be the Griswold sibling’s attempt to recreate their families disastrously amusing family trips. As someone who can relate to the concept of a family vacation going particularly off the rails on a regular basis throughout my life, I’m absolutely satisfied to know that we will be given a look into the Griswolds once again more almost 20 years after the last film. John Francis Daley and Johnathan Goldstein will be overseeing the film that is supposed to begin filming later this month.
