Comedy mega-producer and director Judd Apatow is heading to TV (or, more specifically, the internet), as Netflix has just greenlit a comedy pilot by Apatow.
The series, entitled Love, stars Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust as Mickey and Gus, a couple who go through the journey of being in love, including the embarrassments, craziness, and laughable moments of insanity.
The series has been picked up for a 1o-episode first season and a 12-episode second season. Ted Sarandos, the head of Netflix said about the series:
“Judd Apatow has a unique comedic voice that manages to be delightful, insightful, and shockingly frank — often at the same time. Together with Paul and Lesley, he’s bringing a whole new level of agony and ecstasy to this modern day comedy of manners.”
Love is expected to begin airing in 2016. If that seems like quite a while, you can get your fix of the two leads in their various projects – Jacobs is going to continue with her role as Britta in the sixth season of Community, while Rust is recurring on cult podcast Comedy Bang Bang.
