For devotees of Apple (the tech giant, not the fruit), getting your hands on their newly released device is a source of great joy. So much so that many are willing to camp outside of Apple stores just to be one of the first to be able to purchase their new gadget.
One of these devotees is Jack Cooksey, who did exactly that. In fact, in his home city of Perth, Australia, he was the very first person to be able to buy the newly released iPhone 6. But that wouldn’t be the only first he’d be experiencing that day, because as it turns out, he would also be the first person to drop his iPhone 6.
And that is not all–here is the cherry on top–all this happened in front of a camera while he was being interviewed.
Imagine the scene: here he is most probably tired and cold from waiting outside the store all night. Then in the morning he gets to enter and be the very first to purchase that precious device. And he walks out all happy, and then a reporter approaches from Perth’s Channel 9 to ask him for an interview. He gets to be on TV! This is the best day ever!
But as he takes out the iPhone from its box to show it off, he yanks too hard and it flies out. Time slows down and he probably has a mini heart attack. The reaction of the people around him just adds to the drama.
“I saw it hit the floor, and I was like ‘oh, no,no,no,no’,” Mr Cooksey told 9NEWS. But thankfully the phone appears to survive as he puts it back in the box.
All is well, and he is famous now, which makes it a blessing from the tech gods.
