‘Paper Towns’ Plants Itself In New Shooting Location

Even though the book is set in Florida, ‘Paper Towns’ is now confirmed to begin shooting in North Carolina. It’s all about those tax breaks!

The latest John Green novel to get a film adaptation, has finally found a shooting location; and that place is North Carolina!

The film Paper Towns is actually set in Orlando, Florida, but tax incentives have made it more lucrative to shoot in North Carolina. John Green, the revered author of the book who is also serving as Executive Producer, is thrilled with the location, especially since his parents live in the area. “My parents are psyched!” the author said.

Paper Towns, tells the story of Quentin “Q” Jacobsen, and his neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman. Two childhood friends who had drifted apart until one night in a surreal moment: Margo visits Quentin in his bedroom dressed as a ninja and asks him to help her enact revenge on people who have wronged her. After helping her that night, Margo disappears the next day, prompting Quentin to search for her.

Nat Wolff who also starred in John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars, will be playing the lead role of Quentin, while Cara Delevigne has been cast to play Margo. Jack Schreier will be sitting in as director.

The movie is slated to be released on June 19 2015.
