Carole King And Alanis Morissette Collide On Episode 6X03 Of Glee, “Jagged Little Tapestry”

Episode 6X03 of the final season of Glee is entitled “Jagged Little Tapestry,” & exclusively includes songs and mashups by Carole King & Alanis Morissette.

Well this is a little…strange. Episode 6X03 of the upcoming final season of Glee is entitled “Jagged Little Tapestry.” If you’re thinking, “Hey! That sounds like a mixture of Carole King and Alanis Morrisette albums,” you’re absolutely correct. While these are not two artists I would have ever considered mashing together, I’ve learned that it’s best to trust Ryan Murphy; at least musically. Everything else is open game.

So which songs and mashups can we expect from this episode? Let’s take a look, courtesy of Mundo Glee:

  • Hand in My Pocket (Alanis)/Feel the Earth Move (Carole): Performed by Santana and Brittany

  • So Far Away (Carole)/You Oughta Know (Alanis): Performed by Quinn and Tina

  • Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (Carole)/Head Over Feet (Alanis): Performed by Mason and Jane

  • You Learn (Alanis)/You’ve Got a Friend (Carole): Performed by Rachel, Santana, Kurt, Brittany, Quinn, Tina, Puck and the new New Directions

  • It’s Too Late (Carole King): Performed by Kurt and Blaine

I have to admit, I am very intrigued by this episode. I am a ’90s kid so it’s pretty much a rule that I have to love Alanis, and Carole King is a legend among legends. I love every song listed; but I am a bit concerned by the fact that they’re all mashups. Maybe if they would have given Alanis a full song as they did Carole I would be happier. Can we please add “Thank You” to the roster?
