The Songs Choices For Glee Episode 6X04 Leave Us Puzzled

Gleeks, are you ready for more spoilers? We’ve got the complete song list for Glee episode 6X04, “The Hurt Locker.”

Gleeks, are you ready for more spoilers? We’ve got the complete (albeit rather short) song list for Glee episode 6X04, “The Hurt Locker,” with Ian Brennan taking credit for both writing and directing.

Not totally sure why we’ve only got four songs for this installation, but I have to imagine it means that there will be some major plot lines unfolding (more on that in the next post).

This episode also marks the debut of The Wanted’s Max George. He will play Clint, the leader of rival group Vocal Adrenaline. I don’t know about you guys, and this has nothing to do with Max himself, but I couldn’t possibly care less about Vocal Adrenaline. I thought this final season was supposed to be about the core originals, plus Blaine and Sam. It makes sense that The Warblers are involved due to Jane and Blaine’s storylines, but why include Vocal Adrenaline? The more details that come out about this season, the more I dread it.

But I digress. Check out the songs to be performed in “The Hurt Locker” below, thanks to Mundo Glee. And just in case you’re not familiar with some of these songs (which is entirely possible, these are all incredibly dated tracks), I’ve included videos of each for your reference.

“Whip It” by Devo, performed by Clint and Vocal Adrenaline

“A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton, performed by Sam and Rachel

“Rock Lobster” by the B52s, performed by Clint and Vocal Adrenaline

“Bitch” by Meredith Brooks, performed by Sue

I can’t say any of those sound enticing, like, at all. While I surely rocked out to “Bitch” when I was a tween, it was more because it felt rebellious to sing along with a song all about a curse word. If I never hear “A Thousand Miles” again it will still be too soon, and the others just seem like the music directors are grasping at straws.

At this point I am far from impressed by the prospects of this episode. What do you guys think?
