‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams Would Love To Play Cersei Lannister

Game Of Thrones’ Maisie Williams recently revealed that she’s intrigued by Cersei Lannister’s character, and would be willing to play the evil queen.

Game Of Thrones sees young anctress Maisie Williams starring in the role of Arya Stark. Despite having a very important part of her own in HBO’s series phenomenon, the star stated there’s another character she would love to play in the series.

In a recent interview, Maisie Williams revealed that she would definitely be down to play Cersei Lannister in the medieval drama. According to her, it’s the complexity of the former Queen’s character that makes the role so special. In her own words:

“I think I’d love to play Cersei, just because she’s such a complex character. People still love to hate her, but not like Arya where people agree with a lot of her decisions. It would be so interesting to have such different feedback. Lena does a phenomenal job, I definitely couldn’t be better – but I think it would be very interesting to play someone like that.”

The actress also talked about her own role in Game Of Thrones, that of Arya Stark, saying she didn’t think much of it at first, but now she feels lucky that it was her first one. Maisie Williams is slated to star in Channel 4’s Cyber Bully drama, which is all about online stalking. She stated that adopting the Irish accent for that role was a really challenging thing to do.
